Let Love Bells Ring!

give-love

In our recent visit to Europe, we discovered a world of beauty, history and fascination. On one side there were castles filled with art dating back to early centuries and showed the lavish spoiled lives of the royalty. On the other side, we saw natural sights which left us gaping for words for their sheer beauty and craftsmanship of its Creator! Every street corner had a story to tell and something to acclaim for itself. But like everything else in life, I know that, with time, all this memoirs of our journey will fade away. But there is one thing we will not forget!

We met an old friend… someone who we knew for a few months more than 6 years ago. Now, a blessed couple in Christ – Charles & Sarah Barton! We were almost strangers to each another and yet we could feel a connection and an obvious affection that went beyond the walls of their beautiful home. They cooked for us and in every morsel of food we ate, there was love overflowing and our taste buds were impressed and amused. God bless them for sharing their Christian love with us.

True Christian love is rare these days. Jesus has always taught us to give and give more, but sadly in today’s world, we are all in the business of getting, grabbing and may be even stealing what we think is ours and what we think what the world owes to us.

We often hear that Christmas is a time of giving, and what better season to renew the aroma of Christian love and rekindle what seems to be lost in this generation. Don’t keep hidden agendas or expect anything in return. Reach out to someone and show what it means to love the way Jesus loves us. It may be a meal, a small gift or just a hug! For God sooooo loved the world… that He gave….Jesus said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35). This is the heart of Christian love. It is not a feeling but a lifestyle. I borrow the famous tag line of Emirates and twist it (for this particular article):

“When was the last time you showed Christian love to someone for the first time?”

Wishing all our readers a Very Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year. May you grow deeper and stronger in your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Love,
Stephen, Phebe & Nathan
