Don’t we all make it a point to pray for our children? As a mother, I do! I pray for my children every day without fail. While this seems like the ‘normal’ thing to do, the quality of our prayers often surrounds our concern for our children’s safety, studies, spiritual growth, health, exams, future, etc. And sometimes very generic such as ‘Lord, bless my children’.
While all this is good, it is equally important for us to pray the Word of God over our child’s life. Because there is power in the Word as we read in Hebrews 4:12, “The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
The Word of God is life. And when we choose to speak scriptures over our children, we speak life over them. In Isaiah 55:11, we read “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
And today being the Mother’s Day, what better gift can we give our children than the gift of committed, purposeful prayer!
For the very same purpose, this “30 days of Purpose – a Daily Prayer Guide” has been designed for you. This resource can help us to look into the scriptures and pray for a specific character, virtue, or fruit of the Spirit to be planted in our children rather than just generic words.

You can download the printable version of this PDF below. You can either keep it in your Bible or stick it on a wall, or in a place where you are constantly reminded to pray!
For me, sticking it to the wall works great because my son reads it every day and he too, is learning day by day what to pray for!
