Just a Closer Walk With Thee

We all love stories! Some are true and some are fictions. We have learned or heard Bible stories…
The widow’s son who was raised from the dead
5000 men and their families were fed by 5 loaves and 2 fish
A woman was healed when she touched the hem of Jesus’s garment
The blind man whose eyes were opened, the lame who walked…. the list goes on.

We all know these facts but how many of us would love to feel what the blind man felt when his eyes were healed? How many of us wish we could have been there when the lame man started leaping and the dumb man started singing God’s praises. Don’t we really wish we could have been there to see the power of God at work? I believe the twelve disciples had the greatest privilege than anyone on the face of this earth. They walked with Jesus and were witnesses to the outpouring of the power of God!

As I read the Word of God, it reminded me of the perks of walking with Jesus. We read about Enoch who walked with God and most of us want to do the same, but how? In order to walk along with someone, you need to know WHO you are walking with. We need to have a deep desire to learn more about Him, and know Him. The more we know Him, the deeper and closer relationship we have with Him.

HOW do we know Him? Through the word of God …the Bible. The more we read the BIBLE, the more we get to know about His character, deity, divinity, and essential being. The more we pray, the more we communicate with Him. When we express our desire to know Him more, He will fulfil our desires.John 15:7,8 says-

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

As we walk with God , we begin to witness His power working in our lives which in turn extends our faith in Him.When we start bearing fruits for His glory, we cannot remain silent but like the lame man who started leaping by the touch of Jesus, we have to share the good news of Christ . This is how we feel the joy what the lame man felt when he started walking. This is how we feel the joy of deliverance in our lives and when we share, it becomes our gospel to the world.

“Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.”
